ADVANCE: Insurance-Related Legislative Meetings–Friday, May 1

Florida Senate Session

The Florida Senate will hold Session on Friday, May 1, from 10:00 a.m.-Noon, and again from 1:30 p.m.-6 p.m., Senate Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee.  The agenda includes the following insurance-related bills:

  • CS/CS/1st ENG SB 1894 relating to Surplus Lines Insurers by the Senate Committee on Finance and Tax and State Senator Mike Bennett (R-Bradenton)
  • CS/CS/HB 1171 relating to Residential Property Insurance by the House General Government Policy Council and State Representative Bill Proctor (R-Saint Augustine)
  • CS/CS/SB 880 relating to Community Associations by the Senate Committee on Judiciary and State Senator Mike Fasano (R-New Port Richey)

 

Florida House of Representatives Session

The Florida House will hold Session on Friday, May 1, from 10:00 a.m.-6 p.m., House Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee.  The Special Order agenda includes the following insurance-related bill:

  • CS/2nd ENG SB 2282 relating to First-Responder Services by the Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance and State Senator Mike Bennett (R-Bradenton)

It is anticipated that the omnibus property insurance bill, CS/CS/CS/HB 1495 relating to Property and Casualty Insurance by the House Full Appropriations Council on General Government and Health Care and State Representative Bryan Nelson (R-Apopka), will be considered on second reading in the House today.  Amendments to the bill have been filed.
